Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was basically a Thomas Tuchel signing – the Chelsea boss knew him from Dortmund, and when the Blues needed a budget forward late in the summer, they turned to the then Barcelona man.

He got a bit of a run under Graham Potter once Tuchel was sacked, but Potter basically didn’t fancy him, and before long Chelsea were playing the strikerless formation they’re still in now.

He played pretty poorly when given a chance, but now we’re in a situation where we’re desperate for goals, it looks like he might be coming back into the picture.

Frank Lampard’s first game as caretaker didn’t feature Auba from the start, but he did bring him on as a sub later on, and given it was another game without a goal for the Blues, we reckon Lampard could be considering being the third coach to give the Gabon striker a start this season.
