Barcelona were this evening on the receiving end of one of the most remarkable offside calls in recent memory.
This came during the Blaugrana’s meeting with Real Betis.
Hansi Flick’s troops are of course currently locked in action, with a place in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey on the line. And, as things stand, this is precisely what Barca find themselves headed towards.
As much comes with goals on the part of all of Gavi, Jules Koundé, Raphinha and Ferran Torres having guided the Catalans to the right side of a 4-0 scoreline.
And yet, had it not been for a case of literal millimetres, the evening’s hosts would have been even further in front.
Late in the first-half, Jules Koundé appeared to have notched what would have been an altogether rare brace.
This was until VAR intervened, to rule the goal out for offside.
