Juventus goalkeeper Mattia Perin will be out of the Club World Cup this summer after undergoing surgery on his hand.
The shot-stopper had been expected to be part of the group going to the USA for the expanded tournament in June and July.
However, a statement from the club website confirmed he will be out of action for approximately eight weeks, meaning he is ruled out of the 2025 Club World Cup event.
Perin “underwent surgery for arthrodesis of the proximal interphalangeal joint of the fifth finger of his right hand, which was necessary following a post-traumatic arthrosis in inveterate subluxation.”

The 32-year-old made only nine competitive appearances for Juventus this season, having dropped behind Michele Di Gregorio in the pecking order.
This was made up of five Serie A games, three in the Champions League and one in the Coppa Italia.
The former Genoa goalkeeper has been in Turin since 2018 and has played 56 matches for the Bianconeri, keeping 25 clean sheets.
Perin is not the only shot-stopper in Serie A who had surgery today, as Hellas Verona goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipò also went under the knife for a microfracture to his finger.
