Penalty imposed on Eintracht Frankfurt | OneFootball

UEFA has sanctioned Eintracht Frankfurt with a suspended away fan ban and a fine of €25,000 for incidents that occurred in Rome on 30 January.

On Tuesday evening, 4 February, the UEFA Appeals Body handed Eintracht Frankfurt a fine of €25,000 and a spectator ban for the club’s next away fixture in a European competition. The exclusion penalty is suspended for a period of two years, however.

The reason behind the punishment is an incident that occurred in the area separating the away and home ends immediately after AS Roma’s opening goal shortly before half-time. After home supporters repeatedly threw pyrotechnics into the middle of the Eintracht block, there were brief crowd disturbances, during which pyrotechnics were also thrown from the Eintracht section back towards the Roma fans.
