Tony D’Amico has been heavily linked with the vacant sporting director job at Milan recently. However, as per Carlo Pellegatti, the Atalanta man himself has denied the rumours.
Just a couple of days ago, Gianluca Di Marzio reported that Milan have held talks with D’Amico about the position, which has since been echoed by other outlets as well. However, there seems to be nothing concrete for the time being, at least if the man ghimself is to be believed.
In his latest YouTube video, the Milan correspondent and well-known journalist Carlo Pellegatti spoke about the sporting director dilemma. He stated that while D’Amico is being mentioned by many as the top target, the 45-year-old himself has denied any contact: “Absolutely no contact,” he said.
Pellegatti also added that before the derby against Inter on Wednesday, there likely won’t be any concrete updates. Keeping Igli Tare waiting also isn’t ideal out of respect for his merits, as the journalist concluded, so Milan will have to make a decision on.
Tonight, D’Amico will be at San Siro to watch Milan-Atalanta and perhaps he will even shake hands with the Rossoneri CEO Giorgio Furlani, who is very keen on his arrival.
