It is true that FC Barcelona still houses some of the best homegrown talents in world football. However, some of those talents have ascended the point of being labelled as youngsters and are simply world-class footballers in their own right. Despite their young age, certain Barcelona gems have cemented themselves as first team regulars as well.

Among them, the two players who possibly stand out the most are Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi. Both players, despite being aged just 17, have taken the footballing world by storm. Their abilities, Yamal’s as a forward and Cubarsi’s as a defender, are perhaps unparalleled across football history in terms of their influence at such a young age.

In a recent interview, Cubarsi was even asked to talk about several things and reveal his answers to some of the most interesting questions that could be asked of him. As highlighted by SPORT, the 17-year-old Barcelona defender was also asked which club teammate was the best in 1v1s against goalkeepers, and Cubarsi’s answer was straightforward:

“Lamine Yamal.”

Having grown up through the ranks of La Masia and the Barcelona quarry together, it is perhaps understandable that Cubarsi would know Yamal’s strengths better than most. Moreover, given what he has already shown on the biggest of stages in the footballing world, it is hardly an opinion that would be unpopular.

Moreover, given Yamal’s recent developments, such praise is only the tip of the iceberg. Following the latest update on Transfermarkt, the 17-year-old Barcelona forward has already become the second-highest valued player across Barça’s entire history with his new €150 million valuation.

As for Pau Cubarsi, he has also seen his value increase to €40 million in the latest update. So far, it seems as if Barcelona is finally getting their act together. Without over-spending in the transfer market, La Blaugrana have managed to assemble a strong squad and are now looking like a rather special team altogether.
