Paris FC are at a major turning point in their history. The club were bought by the Arnault family earlier this season with Red Bull also arriving as an associate that will manage the sporting strategy. Following that takeover, which now makes them a big-hitter on a domestic level, Les Parisiens secured promotion to Ligue 1.
Paris FC’s new stadium will be just a matter of yards away from Paris Saint-Germain’s Parc des Princes, however, Michel Denisot, who integrated PFC’s administrative council back in December, says that, despite the club’s newly-acquired wealth, there is no desire to bring one of PSG’s former players, Kylian Mbappé (26), to the French capital.
“The idea is not to bring Mbappé back to Paris,” Denisot confirmed in an interview with L’Équipe. Instead, Denisot confirmed that Paris FC’s project will not be so dissimilar to the one instilled at PSG in recent years.
“The idea is rather to build a team of players coming, as much as possible, from the Paris region,” said Denisot, who confirmed that one of the major priorities of the evolving project is to develop the academy. There will, however, be an investment in the playing squad with a budget of €70-100m evoked for the upcoming transfer window.
