Panathinaikos strike deal to sign Lens’ Anass Zaroury | OneFootball

Foot Mercato understands that Panathinaikos have reached an agreement with RC Lens to sign Anass Zaroury (24).

The Moroccan joined Lens from Burnley last summer for €5m, but did not fully live up to expectations during his first season with the French club. With Will Still leaving the club, it now is not certain that the forward has a place in the system of new manager Pierre Sage. Foot Mercato understands, in fact, that the forward is not part of Sage’s plans this season.

Zaroury has also struggled during Lens’ pre-season preparations and there was no guarantee that he would remain with the club for the upcoming season. He has now moved one step closer to the exit. Panathinaikos have reached an agreement to sign the Moroccan. The Greek side have agreed to a loan deal, which Foot Mercato understands will also include a purchase option at the end of the season.
