From Serie A champion to Turkish hero .. but is stability still out of reach for the Nigerian striker?
Osimhen’s Wild Journey from Napoli Exit to Turkish Glory
Osimhen spent last season on loan at Galatasaray after falling out with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis. The fallout saw him frozen out of the squad despite interest from Premier League giants, Real Madrid, PSG and world record offer from Al Hilal reportedly worth 200 million euro.
Yet Osimhen remained defiant. As transfer windows across Europe closed, Turkey offered the only remaining escape and Galatasaray seized the opportunity.
The Nigerian striker exploded into form. In 41 match for Galatasaray, he netted 37 goal and delivered 8 assist. He bagged 2 goal in the Turkish Cup final against Trabzonspor to seal 3 - 0 win and clinch the trophy.
In the league, he won the Golden Boot with 26 goal beating Polish forward Krzysztof Piatek 21 goal.
Despite his success Osimhen's rarely stayed put. From his start at Strikers Academy in Nigeria to early struggles with Wolfsburg, his journey has been anything but stable.
A single season at Charleroi led to move to Lille then just 1 year later , a record transfer to Napoli in 2020 for 78 million euro.
Now after 3 season in Italy , his longest spell at any club , Osimhen departs again. His permanent switch to Galatasaray raises the question: will he finally settle?
