While it’s clear that the Bologna postponement has affected AC Milan negatively ahead of the Napoli clash, there are also some positives as highlighted by Franco Ordine.

Theo Hernandez and Tijjani Reijnders were initially set to miss the game against Bologna due to suspension. However, as a result of the postponement, they will serve the suspension against Napoli instead and that is far from ideal for Paulo Fonseca.

Several decisions must be made regarding the starting XI, especially in midfield, and Milan fans have every right to be upset with the decision. On the other hand, as highlighted by Franco Ordine (via MilanNews), there is one clear positive to having more days off.

Is the postponement an advantage or a disadvantage for Milan?

“The two aspects balance each other out. The rules say that when there is a postponement, suspensions don’t go with it and so it is. However, there is also the advantage that Napoli played today [yesterday] against Lecce and Milan got to rest.

“However, in my opinion, that is not the point. Indeed, a dangerous precedent was set by allowing a mayor to postpone a football match,” he stated.

Antonio Conte highlighted the same angle after the hard-fought win against Lecce, stating that they only will have one day to prepare for the Milan clash. Even though the Partenopei are in great form, this is obviously not ideal for them either.
