Optimism regarding health of Fiorentina’s Edoardo Bove | OneFootball

Serie A witnessed a harrowing scene earlier today as the Fiorentina v Inter clash was abandoned due to Edoardo Bove collapsing.

In desperate and emotional scenes, Bove collapsed onto the floor and soon enough, the players of both teams surrounded him in a circle. The emergency ambulance took time in coming onto the pitch until the players and fans urged for it to come on and help the situation.

The play was suspended as Bove was carried off and the players looked very emotional and distraught. The players returned to the locker room and it was later revealed that he was breathing safely and was taken to the hospital.

La Gazzetta dello Sport stated that some people were there with the player from the start. There was his family and sporting director Daniele Pradé, later joined here by coach Raffaele Palladino, team manager Simone Ottaviani and teammates Cristiagno Biraghi, Lucas Martinez Quarta, Luca Ranieri, Martin Terracciano, Rolando Mandragora and Dodô, who arrived in private cars.

The rest of his Fiorentina teammates will come to visit him in the evening. Everyone received the first reassuring news about their teammate once they entered the locker room and there is optimism about the player’s health. Local authorities have already rushed to the hospital, starting with mayor Sara Funaro, who accompanied the player’s mother, and the president of the region Eugenio Giani.

The club have confirmed that Bove’s situation will be assessed in the next 24 hours and was in intensive care.
