What do you predict with the final 2024/25 Premier League table?
Following the 3-0 victory for Newcastle United on Monday night at Leicester.
Nine Premier League matches had already been played on Saturday and Sunday, this the 31st round of PL games.
Newcastle United concluding the round of matches, a stroll against the Foxes.
It could hardly have gone any better really from a black and white perspective this weekend!
Of the 10 clubs who started the weekend in the top half of the table, Newcastle United were one of only three of the ten who didn’t drop points in their matches.
Premier League results this weekend:
Everton 1 Arsenal 1
Palace 2 Brighton 1
Ipswich 1 Wolves 2
West Ham 2 Bournemouth 2
Villa 2 Forest 1
Brentford 0 Chelsea 0
Fulham 3 Liverpool 2
Spurs 3 Southampton 1
Man U 0 Man City 0
Leicester 0 Newcastle 3
As you can see, only Newcastle United, Fulham and Villa won, of those teams with any kind of hope of Champions League qualification.
Liverpool, Arsenal, Forest, Chelsea, Man City, Bournemouth and Brighton all dropping points.
This is how the Premier League table now currently (Tuesday 8 April 2025) looks:
When it comes to predicting what that final Premier League table will look like after the 38th round of fixtures in May 2025, Opta have done some updated analysis after Newcastle United completed the programme of PL weekend matches.
Using their latest data simulations, Opta analysis has shown this as the most likely 2024/25 Premier League table come the end of the season – Predicted final table as at 8 April 2025:
As you can see, a significant shift now.
With Newcastle United now predicted to finish in the Premier League top four.
A Champions League place predicted, with a cushion, as it is top five place who are set to get CL qualification.
In the current Premier League table, Newcastle United fifth but only behind Chelsea on goal difference, United with a game in hand on the blues as well as the same with all other rivals.
The Opta prediction model now forecasting Newcastle United to end up fourth on 66 points, two points behind Forest, one ahead of Man City, three ahead of Chelsea.
It is now ‘virtually impossible‘ for the Premier League not to get one of the two extra Champions League places, based on collective results in Europe this season for all leagues.
Five of Newcastle’s remaining eight Premier League matches are at home, starting with Man U on Sunday at St James’ Park and then Palace three days after that.
