What do you predict with the final 2024/25 Premier League table?

Less than five weeks of the season still left to go.

In 33 days time Newcastle United will conclude their season with a home game against Everton on Sunday 25 May with a 4pm kick-off.

Newcastle United had won six matches (all competitions) in a row, including five Premier League victories on the bounce.

However, that winning run came to an end at Villa Park.

Not the best of weekends for Newcastle United, including what happened elsewhere.

When it comes to predicting what that final Premier League table will look like after the 38th round of fixtures in May 2025, Opta have done some updated analysis after the weekend’s matches, reassessing how things are forecasted to turn out.

Using their latest data simulations, Opta analysis has shown this as the most likely 2024/25 Premier League table come the end of the season – Predicted final table as at 22 April  2025:

As you can see, Newcastle United fourth in the current Premier League table but the Opta predictions for the end of the season see United ending up fifth.

Man City forecast to end up third on 68 points, just ahead of Forest also on the same points, Newcastle United predicted one point behind on 67 points and ending up fifth.

Villa and Chelsea the ones forecast to miss out on Champions League football, both on 64 points, three behind NUFC.

With just five games to be played by each of the five clubs competing for the three remaining Champions League places (assuming Arsenal are going to be joining Liverpool in qualifying), every result now becomes so important.

Maybe one of the very most important and potentially decisive in how things turn out in the end, as Man City are at home to Aston Villa tonight.

Most importantly of course will be Saturday at St James’ Park and Newcastle United needing to make it seven wins in their last eight matches when they face Ipswich, including six wins from seven in the Premier League.
