The performance of one headline member member of the attacking ranks at La Liga Barcelona against Manchester City marked the final nail in the coffin when it comes to his future with the club.

That’s according Diario AS, who point towards Vitor Roque as the player in question.

Youngster Roque, for his part, was afforded a starting berth on Wednesday, as Barcelona kicked their pre-season tour of the USA into gear in a high-profile friendly meeting with Manchester City.

The Brazilian, however, went on to endure an outing to forget.

Looking completely lost from his berth on the left flank, Roque repeatedly surrendered possession, struggling to get involved in anything positive in the final third.

As much culminated in the 19-year-old being hooked from proceedings at the interval, with Barca having only looked the better for it during the 2nd-half.

And, as alluded to above, the understanding is that Roque’s failure to step up to the plate against City will prove decisive in his Blaugrana future, or rather lack thereof…

‘Vitor Roque will not continue at FC Barcelona. The decision is now firm within the club, both at the top and in the Sporting Commission: the future of the Brazilian striker is far from Barça. The final trigger was Tuesday’s game against Manchester City.’
