Olympique Marseille are on the brink of finalising a deal to bring Juventus winger Timothy Weah to the club on a loan deal, according to RMC Sport.
Weah, who previously played for Paris Saint-Germain and Lille, is enthusiastic about a return to France.
The two clubs are finalising the details regarding the transfer fee. Juventus value Weah, who is under contract until 2028, at around €20 million.
Juventus initially preferred a direct sale, but have accepted the loan-plus-obligation formula, with the final fee likely to be in the region of €15m plus add-ons.
Personal terms have long been agreed with Weah, who has committed to a five-year contract, reportedly on a salary of around €2.5m per year.
Weah is keen to reignite his career after two unspectacular seasons in Turin despite making over 70 appearances.
The opportunity to follow in his father George Weah’s footsteps and play for Marseille also adds sentimental value to the move.
Capable of filling in as either a winger or wing-back, Weah’s versatility makes him a decent addition for Marseille as they prepare for a return to the Champions League.
They have already signed Conrad Jaden Egan-Riley, Angel Gomes, Jonathan Rowe, Neal Maupay, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Facundo Medina this summer.
They are also close to bringing back Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the Orange Velodrome after a brief spell in the Saudi Pro League.
