OGC Nice learn opponents in event of Champions League progression | OneFootball

OGC Nice face SL Benfica on Wednesday in the third round of qualifying for this season’s UEFA Champions League. Should they progress to the next stage of qualifying, at the Portuguese side’s expense, they have learned the identity of their next opponent.

Franck Haise’s side finished fourth in Ligue 1 last season, securing that finish thanks to a 6-0 hammering of Stade Brestois on the final day of the season. That finish secured them a place in the third round of Champions League qualifying.

They face Benfica at the Allianz Riviera on Wednesday with the return leg next Tuesday. They will face either Feyenoord or Fenerbahçe in the next round, should they progress. The first leg would be away on 19th or 20th August, with the second leg at the Allianz Riviera on 26th or 27th August. Victory over the two legs would then secure Le Gym’s place in the League Phase of the Champions League.
