West Ham United have announced the signing of French midfielder Mohamadou Kanté (18) from Ligue 2 side Paris FC, both clubs have announced. The 18-year-old midfielder has put pen to paper over a five-year contract with the Hammers. Kanté has been loaned out to his formative club for the current season. The midfielder is yet to make his professional debut with the Parisians, but his performances with Paris FC’s youth teams have caught the eye of European outfits.

Kanté has scored two goals in nine games for the Ligue 2 side’s U19 team. He reportedly underwent a medical this Monday. “Paris FC is delighted to be able to count on him for an additional season, which will allow the team to continue to benefit from his talent while offering him a smooth transition to his new English adventure”, added the Ligue 2 side in their statement. Paris FC will host Dunkerque this Friday for Ligue 2’s matchday 2.
