RC Strasbourg have signed England international left-back Ben Chilwell (28) from Chelsea FC, both clubs have announced. The former Chelsea is the 18th and final signing for Liam Rosenior’s Alsatians this signing. Despite a contract running until 2027, Chilwell was no longer part of Enzo Maresca’s plans for the future at Stamford Bridge. The former Leicester City defender was allowed to spend the second half of the previous Premier League season on loan at Crystal Palace, with whom he won the FA Cup.

The 2021 Champions League winner with Chelsea has signed a two-year contract with the BlueCo-owned Ligue 1 side, who have qualified last week for the UEFA Conference League. Chilwell is the third Premier League player to complete a Deadline Day switch to RC Strasbourg today after Brighton’s Julio Enciso and Fulham’s Martial Godo. Chilwell could make his Strasbourg debut at home against Le Havre after the international break.
