Official: Roma send Le Fee to Sunderland | OneFootball

Roma have officially sent Enzo Le Fée to Sunderland on loan with an option to buy that can become an obligation for €23m.

The midfielder had only been signed over the summer from Stade Rennais for €23m, but made precious little impact at the Stadio Olimpico.

He was not helped by the fact they have been through three coaches already this season, but still amassed only 10 appearances between Serie A, the Coppa Italia and Europa League.

Le Fée wanted more regular playing time and this evening completed the transfer to Sunderland on loan until the end of the season.

The official Roma statement confirms this is a loan with obligation to buy if certain conditions are met.

According to transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano, the option to buy is worth €23m and becomes an obligation if Sunderland are promoted to the Premier League.

“I’m very happy to be here and I’m excited to meet the people,” Le Fée told the official Sunderland AFC website.

“There are some familiar faces with Wilson Isidor, Adil Aouchiche and Salis Abdul Samed. I also know the coach and I know how he wants to play, so I am sure this will also help me.

“Now, I just need to prove it on the pitch. I think that’s the most important thing and I’m very excited to play in front of the fans. This is a big club. For me, that is normal, and I can’t wait to get started.”

The player is keeping the Number 28 jersey that he already wore at Rennes and Roma.

He turns 25 next month.
