Real Madrid have not exercised their buyback option on Inter Milan-linked Como midfielder Nico Paz this summer.

The Lariani officially announce, via FCInterNews, that the Argentine will not be rejoining Los Blancos this summer.

Inter Milan have been following midfielder Nico Paz closely for months now.

The 20-year-old was one of the outstanding players in Serie A last season. He well and truly hit the ground running in his first season at Como after arriving from Real Madrid.

Therefore, Inter have long viewed Paz as a dream signing.

One complicating factor in Inter’s prospective pursuit of Nico Paz has been the fact that Real Madrid have a buyback option on the 20-year-old.

When the Spanish giants sold Paz to Como last summer, they included such an option.

Therefore, Inter or any other interested club could not simply negotiate with Como. They would have to wait and see what Real Madrid would do.

However, Como have confirmed that Real Madrid have not exercised their buyback.

Los Blancos do, however, have a buyback that becomes active once again next summer.
