AS Monaco have officially announced the signing of Oumar Konaté (18) from his formative club Sol FC d’Abobo. The young striker arrives having made several appearances in the Ivorian top flight and having scored one goal.

Konaté was picked as part of the Côte d’Ivoire U20 squad that competed in the 2024 Maurice-Revello Tournament, and even provided an assist during his nation’s match against France, and scored against Mexico.

His teammate at the tournament, Valy Konaté (18), was picked up by Monaco in the winter transfer window and has since made several appearances for Les Monégasques youth teams.

Monaco looking to the future

Youth has been a priority for Monaco this summer, with the club looking to reinforce their youth teams. The club announced, alongside the arrival of Konaté, that three teenagers had joined on training contracts. This included Irish prospect David Dunne (16), who joins from Cork City.
