Lazio have announced that Pedro will remain at the club for at least another year after extending his contract with the club.

Elusive Career

The former Barcelona and Chelsea star is one of the most decorated players of his generation. His career achievements include winning the 2010 World Cup, Euro 2012, three Champions League trophies and the Premier League. He has been playing his football at Lazio since making a controversial free transfer from Roma in the summer of 2021.

Pedro’s Superb Season

Even though he’ll turn 38 next month, Pedro was arguably the Biancocelesti’s best player throughout the 2024/25 campaign. He scored 14 goals in all competitions, including 10 off the bench. This includes a brace in the 2-2 draw against Inter Milan in the penultimate round of the season which ultimately handed Napoli the Scudetto title.

Therefore, Lazio have been keen to keep the versatile forward, and have now announced the extension of his contract which was set to expire at the end of the month. The Aquile released a statement on the club’s official website confirming that the veteran has penned a one-year deal.

Pedro had a good rapport with Maurizio Sarri during the latter’s first tenure at Formello, and he’ll be looking to play a significant role under the guidance of the returning manager.
