The squad of players called upon by the coaching staff at Barcelona for the club’s latest outing has been unveiled online.

And it features noteworthy inclusions and exclusions alike.

Barcelona are of course primed to return to action on Sunday evening.

In efforts to keep pace with arch rivals Real Madrid atop the La Liga table, the Blaugrana have made the trip to the Spanish capital, for a meeting with Rayo Vallecano.

Hansi Flick’s troops head into the matchup boasting a perfect record in the defence of their title to date, having rattled off a pair of back-to-back wins to open the season.

And as alluded to above, a short time ago, the group of players selected to keep this run alive was announced.

The most notable inclusion comes in the form of Wojciech Szczęsny, called up for the first time in 2025/26 after finally being registered with La Liga this week.

Missing out, on the other hand, is midfield standout Gavi, who picked up a knee injury in training on Friday.

Also nowhere to be seen are summer signing Roony Bardghji, the transfer-linked Héctor Fort, or long-term injury absentee Marc Bernal.
