Official: Jules Kounde renews his contract at Barcelona until 2030 | OneFootball

As was expected, FC Barcelona have confirmed that key defender Jules Kounde has signed a new contract with the club until 2030.

The 26-year-old French international’s previous deal still had two years left on it. However, considering his contributions and importance in the team, the Blaugrana have acted swiftly to tie him down to a new deal.

Since joining Barcelona in 2022, Kounde has grown in stature within the side with each passing season. The Frenchman has excelled as a right-back in recent seasons, making the position his own.

The new deal, running until 2030, is a more than deserved reward for the versatile defender who etched himself in Barcelona folklore with his match-winning goal against Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final last season.

With Kounde’s contract signing, Barcelona have now renewed almost every key member of the team, with the likes of Ronald Araujo, Pedri, Gavi, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal all penning new deals this year.

A permanent fixture in Hansi Flick’s lineup, Kounde is expected to start in Barcelona’s La Liga opener against Mallorca tomorrow and will hope to celebrate his renewal with a solid performance.
