Ismaïl Gharbi joins the Tunisian national team. The former Parisian is now eligible to represent his country of origin.

The confirmation came from the Tunisian Football Federation, which released a statement on Friday evening, August 29, 2025, announcing that it had received a positive decision from the FIFA Players' Status Chamber regarding the player's change of sporting nationality.

A former Spanish youth international, the winger—currently with Braga SC in Portugal—has switched his sporting nationality and is now available for selection by Sami Trabelsi for upcoming fixtures, notably the remainder of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers and the final stage of the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025.

The 21-year-old is expected to be included in Sami Trabelsi's squad for the two matches against Liberia (September 4) and Equatorial Guinea (September 8), which are part of the 7th and 8th rounds of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The Paris-born player has featured in three matches for Braga this season and provided an assist during the Europa League qualifiers.
