La Liga champions Barcelona have this week made official a departure from the club’s reserve team ranks.
The player set to spend next season away from Catalunya’s capital? Ander Astralaga.
Shot-stopper Astralaga’s name will of course be a familiar one to regular viewers of Barcelona.
This comes with the youngster having been a regular feature in the Catalans’ first-team setup this past season.
In fact, despite not taking to the pitch at senior level even once over the course of the campaign, the 21-year-old was called up by Hansi Flick for a considerable 26 fixtures.
Those behind the scenes at the Camp Nou, though, are evidently of the opinion that senior game-time would prove no easier to come by for Astralaga in 2025/26.
This comes amid confirmation of the talented Spaniard being farmed out on loan for the season ahead.
As per a statement across Barcelona’s website and social media platforms:
‘FC Barcelona and Granada CF have reached an agreement for the loan of goalkeeper Ander Astralaga until June 30, 2026.’
