Official: Antoine Griezman signs new Atlético Madrid contract | OneFootball

Atlético Madrid legend Antoine Griezmann has early this week put pen to paper on fresh terms with the club.

As much was confirmed by the Rojiblancos themselves on Monday afternoon, with the Frenchman set to stay put at the Metropolitano for the seasons ahead.

The subject of Griezmann’s future has of course long proven a headline talking point amongst those of an Atlético Madrid persuasion.

This comes after contrasting reports surfaced in the media, regarding the plans of club and player alike.

Whilst it at one point looked as though a parting of ways was all but inevitable this summer, recent weeks saw it increasingly suggested that the two parties were giving consideration to extending their partnership yet further.

And as alluded to above, on Monday, the latter has been made official.

As per a statement across Atléti’s website and social media platforms this afternoon:

‘Antoine Griezmann and Atlético Madrid have reached an agreement for the French footballer’s contract extension until June 30, 2027.

‘The all-time top scorer for the Red and Whites has extended his contract with the club for another season, with whom his contract expired in 2026.’
