Odysseas Vlachodimos close to leaving Newcastle United deal – No rush though | OneFootball

It has now been reported in Belgium that Odysseas Vlachodimos is set to leave Newcastle United.

The goalkeeper arrived in the summer as a widely reported transfer of convenience for both clubs in dealing with PSR issues, with Elliot Anderson heading out.

That appears to have been rubber stamped with what we have seen so far in these opening two weeks of the season.

Nick Pope obviously number one, then currently Martin Dubravka still number two.

Then with Dubravka having suffered a reported concussion in training, this past week saw John Ruddy and not Odysseas Vlachodimos end up on the bench. United also have Mark Gillespie still at the club for another season.

Anyway, it has been reported pretty much from when he first signed, that Odysseas Vlachodimos would end up heading back out this window.

Which now looks set to happen with Belgian media outlet HLN reporting that Odysseas Vlachodimos is set to join Anderlecht on loan, according to their sources.

As you no doubt will be aware, the Premier League transfer window closes at 11pm tonight.

However, no rush on this potential Odysseas Vlachodimos deal to Anderlecht.

The transfer window in Belgium doesn’t close until Friday 6 September, so Anderlecht and Newcastle United have another week to sort this.
