Milan Futuro boss Massimo Oddo has admitted that his side are lacking the ruthlessness and the hunger required to kill games off.

It was a familiar tale for Milan Futuro in their latest Serie C game on Tuesday night as they led against Pineta at half-time, but were unable to hang on for three much-needed points, eventually losing 2-1.

There was a bizarre incident with just over 10 minutes left when the referee Mazzoni awarded the Futuro a penalty for a handball in the area. After fierce protests from the Pineto players and some input from the linesman, he reversed the decision.

It means that the Rossoneri’s second team are now bottom of their league in Serie C and staring direct relegation to the fourth tier in the face, barring a late resurgence.

Oddo spoke at a post-match press conference after the full-time whistle to give his thoughts on another frustrating game for his side, which were relayed by MilanPress.

A tale of two halves…

“Unfortunately, our limit at the moment is that, we have little ruthlessness in front of goal, little hunger to close out games. The first half could have ended 3 or 4 to 0, we played an exceptional game.

“Then, in the second half we gave Pineto courage. They scored two goals with two shots. The game is there for all to see, even a draw would have been too tight for us. It’s a very deceptive result.”

There are positive aspects…
