NUFC now announce 2025/26 Newcastle United squad number for Lewis Hall | OneFootball

The club have now revealed what the 2025/26 Newcastle United squad number will be for Lewis Hall.

This follows on from earlier on Friday, when NUFC announced that Anthony Elanga would be taking over the number 20 shirt, switching from the number 21 he had at Forest last season.

Last season at Newcastle United, it was Lewis Hall who wore number 20.

In that earlier report, we mentioned; ‘When you look at the 2024/25 Newcastle United squad numbers that were announced (see below) in August 2024 for the 2024/25 season, you can see number 3 wasn’t taken. So it may well be the case that Lewis Hall will now take that shirt.’

Sure enough, the lifelong Newcastle United fan now confirmed as wearing number 3 next season.

Amongst the other NUFC shirt numbers available for the 2025/26 season, you now have the number 9 currently vacant, with Callum Wilson having left. Interesting to see if Alexander Isak swaps 14 for 9…

So this social media drip drip release of new NUFC squad numbers for next season, no surprise if (hopefully) it is a a build-up to United announcing Alexander Isak wearing the number 9 shirt (for Newcastle United!) next season.

Newcastle United official announcement – 16 August 2024:

Newcastle United have confirmed their squad numbers for the 2024-25 season.

Harvey Barnes has taken the number 11 shirt following Matt Ritchie’s departure.

Lloyd Kelly is number 25, Will Osula will wear number 18, Odysseas takes number 19 and John Ruddy has been handed 26.

Bruno Guimaraes will continue to don his now iconic 39 while the famous number nine will once again belong to Callum Wilson, the club’s second all-time Premier League goalscorer.
