The Tricky Trees are lining up a raid of their East Midlands rivals this week

With less than a week of the summer transfer window to go, Leicester City are expected to experience one of the busiest ends to the market, and they are now bracing themselves for interest in Denmark international defender Victor Kristiansen from Nottingham Forest.

The Foxes - relegated from the Premier League last season - have endured a difficult and slow summer, with suggestions of a potential points deduction from the EFL clouding their pre-season preparations.

Former QPR boss Marti Cifuentes eventually replaced Ruud van Nistelrooy, albeit that entire decision-making process was delayed, and they have had a mixed start to the season, too.

Forced to come from behind on the opening day to defeat crisis club Sheffield Wednesday at the King Power Stadium, City then suffered a penalty shootout defeat to League One side Huddersfield Town in the EFL Cup before a 2-1 loss at Deepdale against Preston North End. They did, though, most recently manage to edge past a difficult to beat Charlton Athletic side at The Valley.

Outgoings have been the main order of business for Leicester this month, and it would not be a surprise to see a couple more departures from the King Power – with Kristiansen potentially among them.

According to John Percy of The Telegraph, via his X account, Nottingham Forest retain an interest in Victor Kristiansen, of East Midlands rivals Leicester City.

It has been reported by Percy that Forest are in talks to sign Strasbourg winger Dilane Bakwa, as well as Getafe goalkeeper David Soria, but they are also keen on signing a left-back as part of their transfer splurge too.

It has been suggested that Kristiansen ‘remains under consideration’ by Forest as they seek to bolster their squad options ahead of a UEFA Europa League campaign.

There has also reportedly been interest in Forest in another Championship left-back, Ipswich Town defender Leif Davis, but the Tractor Boys are reluctant to sell one of their star players after already cashing in on both Omari Hutchinson and Liam Delap this summer.

22-year-old Copenhagen-born Kristiansen joined Leicester in the January transfer window of 2023 for a fee believed to be in the region of £17 million.

He made 12 appearances for Leicester as they suffered relegation in the 2022/23 season before spending a season out on loan at Bologna, helping them finish fifth in Serie A, before returning to Leicester for the 2024/25 campaign and making 30 Premier League appearances in another drop to the Championship.

Leicester City have offloaded several players this month - it has to end somewhere

After a quiet summer transfer window in terms of both incomings and outgoings, Leicester have sanctioned the sales of quite a few players in the last few weeks.

Conor Coady and Wilfred Ndidi have moved to Wrexham and Besiktas respectively, whilst Kristiansen’s international teammate Mads Hermansen has moved to West Ham United.

Last week, Ipswich signed Ireland international Kasey McAteer for a fee believed to be in the region of £12 million, whilst James Justin has recently completed a £10 million move to Leeds United.

As well as Kristiansen, there is also lots of reported interest in attacking midfielder Bilal El Khannouss, with Crystal Palace said to be keen, as well as winger Abdul Fatawu, with Sunderland apparently interested.

The question remains - how many exits does it have to take for Leicester to do some incoming business before the September 1 transfer deadline?

Their squad isn't big following some of their exits and they've raked in some considerable transfer fees, yet as they're watched like a hawk by the EFL, the spending of that money brought into the club is likely to be limited.
