Chelsea immediately rejected a loan offer with an obligation to buy for Carney Chukwuemeka from Borussia Dortmund, with the bid described as “insulting” according to Fabrizio Romano.

Chukwuemeka spent the second half of last season on loan at Dortmund, and wants to return to the Bundesliga outfit.

Chelsea have made it clear they want a permanent sale, and it’s been reported they’ve lowered their asking price to €25m.

Chelsea insulted by latest Dortmund offer for Chukwuemeka

Chukwuemeka isn’t part of Enzo Maresca’s plans and he’s one of a number of players the Blues are looking to move on before the window closes.

It was reported Napoli could offer Chukwuemeka a way out of Stamford Bridge, whilst RB Leipzig have also expressed interest.

Dortmund boss Robert Kovac has stated how much he likes Chukwuemeka, and he scored one goal in 17 appearances for the club over the second half of last season.

The Bundesliga outfit want Chukwuemeka, and made a loan offer with an obligation to buy on Friday, and Romano has provided an update.

He took to X.com and said:

“Understand Chelsea have immediately rejected Borussia Dortmund bid for Carney Chukwuemeka.

“#CFC not happy at all with loan with obligation bid described as ‘insulting’ as more clubs also approached them for a permanent transfer.”

Chukwuemeka is said to be disappointed with how Chelsea deal with players, but if Dortmund want the midfielder they will need to increase their offer.

Chelsea still need to sell a number of players

Chelsea have made good progress with payer sales this summer, but there’s still a lot more work to be done over the next couple of weeks.

Ben Chilwell, Raheem Sterling, Nicolas Jackson, Renato Veiga, Axel Disasi and Christopher Nkunku are all likely to leave this window, but as of yet some players have received no offers, whilst others haven’t been deemed acceptable.

It’s likely clubs will wait as they know Chelsea need to sell, and will try and get themselves a discounted deal towards the end of the window.
