Manchester United’s dire financial situation in the aftermath of Thursday’s Europa League final defeat will have them forced to consider selling some of Ruben Amorim’s most trusted lieutenants.

Being far and wide the side’s most influential and consistent player, he is easily one of their most valuable assets heading into the summer – even in the build-up to his 31st birthday.

He garnered interest from both Chelsea and Napoli in the winter window, with the latter having a £45 million bid rebuffed for the £60m-valued youngster.

On the other hand, one player whom the Old Trafford faithful do not want to see leave under any circumstances is Amad.

The Ivorian livewire finished second in the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year rankings after overseeing a career-best top-flight campaign – even whilst spending three months out injured.

Amad, 22, has scored 10 goals and contributed a further nine assists in 42 appearances this season, making it no surprise his stellar form has caught the eye of clubs across Europe.

United still owe a whopping £90 million for underwhelming Ten Hag signings Andre Onana, Antony and Mason Mount, so must now consider which members of the squad will recuperate substantial transfer fees – Amad will undoubtedly be one.
