The Canaries will be looking to improve on last season, when they finished in 13th place in the Championship.

But with Liam Manning now having arrived from Bristol City, there is optimism that they can do better than the last time around.

Here we take a look at the latest stories emerging from Carrow Road:

Interest in Josh Sargent from the Bundesliga

Josh Sargent is one of the most sought-after players in the Championship this summer, and the latest rumours surrounding him concern a possible return to the Bundesliga.

The German news outlet Kicker report that Wolfsburg could be interested in signing Sargent, as they look to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new season. Sargent is contracted at Norwich until 2028, and the Canaries are under no obligation to sell, but considering that the American striker arrived at Carrow Road from another Bundesliga club, Werder Bremen, there is a possibility that such a move could appeal.

Such were the strength of his performances last season - he made the Championship's Team of the Year after scoring 15 League goals in 32 appearances - that Sargent will be in demand, and the rumours surrounding his future don't seem likely to diminish as the summer proceeds.

Bristol City coaches join their former boss

Meanwhile, Liam Manning's backroom team at Carrow Road is continuing to grow with the news that two of Manning's former deputies at Bristol City have left Ashton Gate to join him at Norwich.

Chris Hogg and James Krause are the two coaches to have made the switch.

Hogg is a long-time associate of Manning, having worked with him at Oxford United and MK Dons, as well as at Bristol City.

He'll be assuming the position of assistant head coach, while James Krause, who was also with him at Milton Keynes, will be working as first-team coach analyst.

Canaries closing in on highly-rated youngster McCourt

The Pink 'Un reports that Norwich are on the point of agreeing terms with the talented Derry City youngster Glenn McCourt.

The 17-year-old defensive midfielder had been reported to have been the subject of 'two concrete and sizable offers' from Premier League clubs. He's expected to join the club's development squad.

The young midfielder may not be the only youngster making their way to the club this summer, either. It's also been reported that Fleetwood youngster Reece Wilkes is also poised to sign for the club, while Swindon youngster Botan Ameen also remains a target.

Archie Mair could be on his way to Plymouth

It's been a summer of change for Norwich's goalkeepers, with the departure of Angus Gunn having already been confirmed and Vladan Kovacevic having joined for £2 million from Sporting Clube de Portugal.

Another Norwich goalkeeper to have been released at the end of last season was Archie Mair, and reports from Football Insider are now suggesting that the 24-year-old Scot is close to joining Plymouth Argyle.

Mair was at Carrow Road for six years, but never made a single League appearance for the club.
