Enzo Maresca says Chelsea have no plans to sell Noni Madueke amid transfer links with Arsenal.

The winger was a key player under Maresca last summer, making more than 40 appearances across all competitions and providing 10 goals and six assists from the flanks.

The Gunners on Thursday were linked with interest in Madueke as the club continues to scour the transfer market for upgrades to their attacking line-up.

Standard Sport understands that Mikel Arteta is keen to provide competition for both Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, and had hoped to lure Nico Williams to north London. However, the Athletic Club star prefers a move to Barcelona or Bayern Munich.

Madueke has reportedly been looked at as a summer window opportunity but, when asked for an update on the player's future, Maresca dismissed talk of an exit.

Maresca told reporters: "Noni is our player, you can read a lot of speculation at the moment but we consider Noni our player for the coming season."

The Blues boss was speaking to reporters in the United States ahead of the Blues' second Club World Cup game, against Flamengo on Friday evening.

Maresca confirmed that Chelsea are in the market for a winger, no matter the future of Madueke or in light of Mykhailo Mudryk being charged by the Football Association for breaching doping regulations.

He added: "We are going to decide to go for a winger not because of Misha [Mudryk]. We want to go for a winger if he is back or not. It's quite clear it is a position we need to improve."
