Lorenzo Pellegrini’s future is still uncertain despite the player professing his love for the Giallorossi colors just a few days ago.
The Roma skipper continues to be linked with a possible exit from the Italian capital.
For one, his performance against Bologna once put again put him in a bad light and his place in Ranieri’s line-up is far from guaranteed.
Napoli remain interested, writes Corriere dello Sport.
Prior to the Derby della Capitale, Napoli director Giovanni Manna had found an agreement with Roma for Pellegrini’s transfer.
All talks were put on hold once the captain scored the first goal of the night.
The newspaper clarifies, however, that Napoli are still waiting for a definite answer from the midfielder.
Because if it is true that Pellegrini would like to stay in Giallorossi at least until June, it is also true that he needs guarantees to play and not remain on the bench for the rest of the season.
Furthermore, his contract will expire in 2026 and there are no indications of discussions between the parties on the renewal.
