Switching Leicester for Chelsea came at the right time for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. Enzo Maresca, after all, led the way after his departure for the Blues. The midfielder spent the entirety of his senior career with the Foxes, outside of two loan spells to Blackpool and Luton Town.

His backstory brought up an interesting aspect for the upcoming Premier League game between the two mentioned Prem sides. Dewsbury-Hall shared what would happen on the off chance he scores.

Celebrating against your former club is typically frowned upon. This is especially true when the relationship between parties amicably ended. The #8 box-to-box player cherishes the time he spent at LCFC.

He's also expressed how much fighting back into the Prem meant to him. Considering the time he spent at the senior and youth levels, he feels an appreciation for his former home.

This led to him sharing the following with insider Frank Khalid:

"If I score against them (Leicester City), I won’t celebrate. I wish them the best of luck for this season."

It's understandable for him to preemptively mention the desire to avoid a 'siu' or Fortnite dance. His history with the club is too strong to even consider anything further than holding hands up after a potential score.

Leaving Leicester was necessary

Fans correctly point out that this is unlikely anyway. While the current CFC player does get playing time, it's often limited and off the bench. In fact, rumors of a potential move to West Ham are beginning to gain traction.

Dewsbury-Hall is a good player, but playing for a historic top-four PL side takes something extra special. He deserves full credit for facing this challenge head-on, as explained in the second part of his earlier response:

"I wanted to test myself at the next level. This felt like the right time, and I wouldn’t have left Leicester for a sideways move, it had to be a top move."

The 26-year-old wanted to push himself and prove to himself that he could play for a top club. Even in a limited sense, he has accomplished that. LCFC fans appreciate what the midfielder did while with their club. In truth, most wish the current players on the roster would take after his work rate more at this point.

A reunion is not in the cards, but the place Leicester holds in Dewsbury-Hall's heart is clear. Out of respect, there won't be any extracurriculars if an effort of his goes in on Sunday.
