Eddie Howe will be hoping Newcastle United can end their frustrating inconsistency this season.
The Magpies appeared to be on an upward curve after impressive wins over Chelsea, Arsenal and Nottingham Forest, but last weekend saw a step back after defeat to West Ham at St James’ Park.
Newcastle have dropped to 10th in the Premier League as a result, ahead of this weekend’s trip to face Crystal Palace. However, just four points separate the North East outfit from the top four and Champions League qualification.
Eddie Howe has confirmed that Bruno Guimaraes and Joe Willock are ‘a chance’ to feature this week despite picking up issues during the defeat to West Ham.
“They have a chance to play,” Howe said at Friday’s pre-match press conference.
“They’re not serious injuries so we’ll make a decision today. Joe took a bang, a nasty whack trying to block a shot just above the ankle, so he lost a little bit of feeling in his leg, it went a bit numb for a while. But it looks like he has improved quickly.”
Dan Burn returns from a one-game suspension, though Jamaal Lascelles and Sven Botman remain on the long-term absentee list.
Newcastle predicted XI: Pope; Livramento, Schar, Burn, Hall; Longstaff, Tonali, Guimaraes; Joelinton, Gordon, Isak.
Crystal Palace host Newcastle in the Premier League on Saturday 30th November 2024. Kick-off at Selhurst Park is 15:00 GMT.
The fixture will not be broadcast live to a UK audience.
