Newcastle United sign former Durham forward Andrews | OneFootball

Newcastle United have completed the signing of former Durham forward Amy Andrews on a free transfer.

The Magpies announced the news via a post on their official club website just a short time ago.

Andrews joins Newcastle United after spending one season with their Barclays Women’s Championship neighbours Durham. The 24-year-old was an ever-present for The Wildcats in league competition last season. She scored six goals in 22 Barclays Women’s Championship outings.

The forward has plenty of potential and she will be hoping to enjoy another successful season in 2024/2025 with new club Newcastle United.

After joining The Magpies, Andrews said “I am extremely excited to be joining such an ambitious club whose goals align with mine.

“The professional setup is something a footballer always dreams of being part of. I’m ready to give my all for the team, the staff and the fans.

“I can’t wait to get started and meet all of the fans as I’ve heard only amazing things about them!”

Andrews becomes Newcastle United’s second signing of the summer transfer window. Manager Becky Langley has been busy bolstering her side’s attack with The Magpies having also signed Bristol City forward Shania Hayles this week.
