Newcastle United fans talking about this summer’s transfer market.

Nowt wrong with that, it is what all supporters of all football clubs do.

However, I have noticed a seemingly ever growing minority of Newcastle United fans who need to have a word with themselves.

The thing I am referring to is those NUFC fans who react in such a negative over the top way to transfers that don’t happen, especially when players are signing for other Premier League clubs.

These Newcastle United fans getting so angry and frustrated AND wanting to make this clear to the rest of us!

Especially so when we are still in the month of May and the first transfer window of the summer doesn’t even officially open until Sunday (tomorrow).

My own anger and frustration, aimed at these ridiculous Newcastle United fans, is what they base their anger and frustration on, with regard to players that end up not signing for NUFC.

The kind of thing I mean is that these fans will get so angry, yet they have absolutely no idea for sure whether Eddie Howe and Newcastle United were even interested in signing these players, never mind whether they actually were actively competing to sign them.

The truth is, these fans going on ridiculous about signings that don’t happen, purely based on the fact that the media have claimed Newcastle United were interested.

The thing is, these same fans will regularly say what a shambles the media covering NUFC are these days, the same with other media in the UK and overseas, yet these Newcastle United fans will also pick certain media transfer stories as reliable! Choose to believe them and be totally convinced they are true. So on that basis, they then get angry and frustrated when these (media speculated…) transfer targets don’t sign for Newcastle.

It is crazy.

Hundreds of players are linked with Newcastle United by the media every summer, so how do fans know which ones are reliable? We all agree surely that most of them are pure fantasy, made up by journalists because they have to to get your clicks/attention.

It is only very rare occasions where it ends up that it is becomes clear for sure that Newcastle are definitely after a certain player.

So for Newcastle United fans to get so angry about Eddie Howe and the club ‘failing’ to sign whoever, based on some dodgy journalist(s) claiming United were after them, is beyond laughable. That is even before you get to the fact that no club signs all of the players they want to sign, plus of course it isn’t a limitless NUFC budget. So if the price (transfer fee, wages, agent fees etc etc) on an actual real Newcastle United target reaches a point where it means not enough cash/flexibility to sign players for the other positions, then why would you be desperate for our club to vastly overpay on any target?

Bottom line is, since Eddie Howe arrived at Newcastle United he and the club have had outstanding success after outstanding success in the transfer market. Trusting them to do the same this summer is an easy decision. Relax.
