Outgoing Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti has received a goodbye gift from the club’s ultras – his steering wheel and a set of CDs which they had stolen from his car.
The 64-year-old may be the cream of the crop in Naples right now after guiding them to their first Serie A title since 1990 but he hasn’t always been popular among the Napoli faithful.
Back in October 2021 a group of fans had broken into his car and stolen his steering wheel as well as CDs belonging to Spalletti before producing a banner reading “We’ll give it back to you, all you have to do is leave.”
Spalletti recently announced that he would leave the Serie A champions at the end of the season and the ultras stuck true to their word, presenting the coach with a box on a visit to the club’s training ground.
