According to Patrick Berger, Napoli are targeting Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi and Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel as possible replacements for PSG-bound Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
During the summer, Adeyemi had been linked with a move to Juventus, with the Italian side coming close to agreeing on personal terms with the forwards’ management.
However, negotiations with BvB never materialised, and once Niclas Füllkrug and Youssoufa Moukoko departed the club, Die Schwarzgelben made it clear that they would only be interested in selling Adeyemi should a significant proposal be made.
Nevertheless, despite starting the campaign in scintillating fashion, registering ten goal contributions in eight games, injuries and illness have plagued the 22-year-old’s Hinrunde.
Therefore, Napoli would have to make an attractive offer for BvB to part ways with Adeyemi this winter.
Regardless, the Serie A side appear to have identified Lille’s Edon Zhegrova as their ideal successor to Kvaratskhelia, but the Ligue 1 outfit are currently blocking the move.
This could see Napoli turn to Adeyemi or Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel.
The 19-year-old, who is reluctant to depart Bavaria, is currently also a target for Chelsea, meaning Napoli would have to compete with the Premier League outfit should they turn their attention to the Frenchman.
