Napoli are close to signing Manchester United striker Rasmus Højlund on an initial loan deal.

Højlund has struggled to show his best form since his arrival at Old Trafford from Atalanta in the summer of 2023 having scored 26 goals in 95 games for the Red Devils in all competitions.

United manager Ruben Amorim has not played the Dane since the start of the season ahead of a potential exit.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Napoli are in the final stages of a deal for the 22-year-old.

The Serie A club are looking to loan the player for this season with a buy option of €45 million which could see the player join the club until 2030.
