Fabrizio Romano has revealed his expectation is Chelsea will reach a pre-agreement this summer to sign Strasbourg striker Emanuel Emegha for 2026.

Chelsea are once again set for another busy summer and could look to fund their business by selling as many as seven or eight players.

The Blues are looking to sign a striker, centre back and right footed attacker in order to bolster Enzo Maresca’s ranks.

Romano on Emegha to Chelsea

With a striker the main priority the Blues have worked hard to beat off competition from Manchester United, Newcastle and Everton for Liam Delap.

Chelsea have reached an agreement with Delap and the 22-year-old just needs to sign his deal and complete a medical.

With Delap all but through the door, attention turns to whether Chelsea will look to sign a second striker whether that be for this summer or 2026.

Romano has now shared his opinion on the matter and believes the Blues will look to make a move for Strasbourg’s Emegha.

“My expectation is for Chelsea to pre-sign Emegha from Strasbourg this summer for 2026,” he told his YouTube channel.

“So close the deal now and let the player join in 2026. Chelsea already planning for 2026.”

Emegha has been linked with Chelsea before and has had a brilliant season for Strasbourg scoring 14 goals in 27 Ligue 1 appearances for Liam Rosenior’s side.

The 22-year-old only joined from Austrian side Sturm Graz for €13m last summer, but it seems he could potentially be on the move again.

Ekitike still of interest

Despite being close to completing a deal for Delap, Chelsea are still keeping an eye on other strikers, and could look to sign a second.

The Blues hold interest in Ekitike, but it remains to be seen if they will move for the 22-year-old, with Frankfurt wanting €100m.

Viktor Gyokeres is a name fans would love to see, but as of yet there haven’t been any strong links suggesting the Blues will make a move for the Sweden international.
