Dennis Man’s agent, Giovanni Becali, reveals he received a call from José Mourinho after his client scored a Serie A goal against Fiorentina in August.

Romania international Man, 26, has had a great start to the season at the Stadio Tardini, scoring two goals in the first three games of the campaign.

He netted the first goal in the 2024-25 Serie A season, allowing his side to take the lead in a Serie A match against Fiorentina, which eventually ended 2-2.

Man signed a contract extension with Parma in July 2024, and his current deal with Ducali expires in June 2027.

Dumitru Dragomir, the former Chief of the Romania Football Federation, said not long ago that Man would be sold for €75m in a couple of years.

“It’s true; that’s why he extended with Parma, but also for his tranquillity and because Fabio Pecchia has brought him to his peak,” Man’s agent Becali told Fanatik.

“Now he has a three-year contract with Parma, and if they receive spectacular offers, worth €30m or €40m, we’ll see, but Parma must secure survival in Serie A. They have the youngest team in the league. If you offer them a 29-year-old striker who has scored 30 goals, they won’t sign him.”

Becali revealed that even José Mourinho, now Fenerbahce’s head coach, called him after seeing Man score against Fiorentina last month.

“Man is happy and serene after signing the renewal,” said his agent.

“Mourinho called me after his goal against Fiorentina and he said: ‘Do you see what Serie A means? The future belongs to them.'”

Parma earned four points in the opening three Serie A games and will host Udinese on Monday, September 16, after the international break.
