Monaco’s Folarin Balogun fit to face OGC Nice | OneFootball

Folarin Balogun (23) is fit to face OGC Nice on Saturday, AS Monaco manager Adi Hütter has confirmed. The USMNT forward made his return to the pitch in a friendly against Brighton’s U23s earlier this week.

Balogun has not featured since the start of December. The USMNT forward dislocated his shoulder in October and despite making a return in late November, there was a flare-up, and with the issue not fully resolved, the decision to operate on the shoulder was taken.

He made a return to action for the youth side on Tuesday. It was a successful return as he netted a 16-minute hat-trick against Brighton before giving way at the break. Monaco held on to secure a 3-2 win in front of the onlooking Hütter.

Balogun could now feature against Nice. “He is back and available,” began Hütter in a press conference attended by Get French Football News. “He played a really good game for the Groupe Élite. He is ready to play.”

The Monaco manager said that Kassoum Ouattara was the only injured player. Jordan Teze, Soungoutou Magassa, and Aleksandr Golovin, all of whom have been recovering from injuries, all trained with the first team during the international break.
