AC Milan’s failures in the Champions League have only increased the pressure to rescue the season by getting a top four finish, but how likely is it?

As MilanNews writes, the more fitting question is whether this team, based on what they have shown so far this season, are really capable of making a run from here to the end of the campaign and overtaking rivals.

To answer this question, first of all, it is necessary to take stock of the schedule that lies ahead for Milan. In the next week alone, the Rossoneri will have three crucial matches, with increasing difficulty.

First up will be Torino on Saturday evening at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, facing a team that they drew against in round one and only suffered their first defeat of 2025 last week.

Then on Thursday at 20:45 CET it will be the turn of the much talked about game-in-hand versus Bologna, postponed from October. The Rossoblu are unbeaten in 2025 and are level on points.

Finally, the Diavolo will host Lazio, currently fourth on equal points with Juventus. The Biancocelesti are a very solid team and are five points ahead of Sergio Conceiçao’s men.

More Stories / The Match

It is clear that three victories against these opponents would guarantee very important points for the Rossoneri. The issue is whether this team has the mental and technical capacity to win even one, let alone three.

In all competitions, only once have Milan got three consecutive victories in 2024-25 so far back in November/December against Slovan Bratislava, Empoli and Sassuolo, who are easier sides to face on paper.

After the international break in mid-March, the Diavolo have to face Napoli, Fiorentina, Atalanta, Roma and the return fixture against Bologna among others, juggling a Coppa Italia semi-final too.

Will Conceicao be able to reverse the trend of failing to build a positive streak? Will the Rossoneri’s star players be able to carry the team on their shoulders? Will elimination from Europe be a help or cause a collapse? All will be answered.
