Chucky Lozano is set to return to action for San Diego FC on Saturday night against LAFC, four weeks after he was forced out of the expansion team's home opener early with a hamstring strain.

Lozano was San Diego's first Designated Player signing, and the Mexican star's early exit on Matchday 2 put a damper on what was supposed to be a celebratory occasion at SnapDragon Stadium.

Earlier this week, SDFC manager Mikey Varas said he expected Lozano to be available Saturday coming off the bench. Now he's officially unlisted on the MLS Player Status report for Matchday 6.

Meanwhile, LAFC has cleared struggling striker Olivier Giroud to return after two weeks out with a minor leg issue. But now it's striker Jeremy Ebobisse who is on the report with a leg issue.

Giroud has yet to score in 13 career MLS appearances.

Meanwhile, Cincinnati won't have one of its most versatile players when it travels to Nashville SC on Saturday.

Japanese midfielder Yuya Kubo is out with a leg injury for the visitors, who have yet to earn a point on their travels this season. He played 81 minutes in last weekend's 2-2 home draw against Atlanta United.

Kubo is listed as a central midfielder, but he has played anywhere from second striker to outside back during his time as Cincinnati's second-longest tenured player after center back Nick Hagglund.

His absence adds to an injury list that also includes center back Matt Miazga. But center back Miles Robinson should return after he missed last week's match to illness.

Charlotte FC's Tim Ream questionable with illness

Charlotte manager Dean Smith could be without key veteran defender for a second consecutive weekend after Ream was listed as questionable with an illness.

Ream was one of two Charlotte players with the USMNT on international duty last weekend. Their absences weren't particularly acutely felt -- The Crown romped to a 4-1 win over the San Jose Earthquakes in their Matchday 5 fixture.

Gutierrez out, Acosta questionable for Chicago

It's a bad news/good news situation for the Fire as they return home to face still-winless CF Montreal.

Brian Gutierrez has been ruled out with a lower body injury following his time away with the USMNT. However, Kellyn Acosta has been upgraded to questionable with his lower body issue.

If Acosta plays, it will be his first appearance since he was forced out after 31 minutes into Chicago's win at Dallas on March 8.
