Another report has claimed that the AC Milan management do not consider the midfield to be complete and that Samuele Ricci of Torino is on their list.

TuttoMercatoWeb reported earlier in the week that Ricci is a player that the technical director Geoffrey Moncada ‘greatly admires’, to the extent that he was considered the main alternative to Youssouf Fofana.

According to MilanLive, Ricci’s displays to start the season with Torino and with Italy have only confirmed the talent that he has. He has shown his ability to adapt to different roles in midfield, playing in front of the defence and as a mezzala.

The fact he is a home-grown player also provides advantages, and the clubs are queueing up. In addition to Milan, Inter and Napoli have also shown strong interest in the Granata star, but it is likely the the Nerazzurri and the Azzurri need a sale first.

Currently under contract with Torino until 2026, Ricci is at the centre of a renewal mission from Urbano Cairo that includes an extension until 2029, with a significant salary increase. The Torino owner wants to show him how important he is, but also increase leverage if clubs come in.

The asking price is €35m at the moment and this is a figure that has ‘surprised several interested clubs’ but that Milan would consider completely appropriate to secure a talent of this caliber, as per the report. The Rossoneri seem willing to make an economic effort to secure the young midfielder.

As such, a move for him is being planned next summer when proceeds from the sales of Ismael Bennacer, Yacine Adli, Tommaso Pobega and potentially other players could bring the funds to complete the coup.
