Nino Marcelli re-opened the recent tilt between Slovan Bratislava and Milan late in the second half with a wonder goal. He could have moved to Serie A last summer since the Rossoneri chased after him, as his agent Juraj Venglos revealed to Gianlucadimarzio.com.
“I won’t indicate any figure, but they were interested, and we held some meetings. Maybe it was too early, and the clubs didn’t come to terms. He’s young and one of the best Slovakian talents. He prefers to be a regular for his current team to be ready to make the jump.”
Milan could perhaps track Marcelli again after the Champions League game.
“I won’t say anything. You’d have to ask them.”
The starlet has an Italian-sounding last name that derives from a great-grandfather, but he’s 100 percent Slovakian.
“At the moment, it’s better for him to star in the U-21 team rather than stay on the bench in the senior one considering next summer’s European Championship.”
Marcelli caught the attention of Milan and other European sides as he debuted in the pros when he was only 18. Roma took a close look at him in the past since his agent had a connection with Morgan De Sanctis, who served as an exec for the Giallorossi. Venglos stressed that: “It wasn’t a proper try-out.”
The winger also spent some time at Villarreal as a teenager, but a muscular problem didn’t allow him to play for four months, and he headed home. He has recorded 14 goals and 8 assists in 62 matches with Slovan Bratislava in recent campaigns.
